WELCOME
For more than 50 years, the Fiesta Bowl Organization has been a staple in our community,
best known for premier world-class experiences through our Vrbo Fiesta Bowl and
Guaranteed Rate Bowl. However, the organization's mission and impact go far beyond
these memorable experiences.
The heartbeat of our organization is a deep commitment to the community, demonstrated
every day through charitable giving, legacy projects and events that improve communities
across the entire state of Arizona.
Fiesta Bowl Charities continued to deliver on our mission by positively impacting over
one million Arizonans in the areas of youth, sports and education. Our initiatives included
$1.25 million to 500 Arizona teachers through the Palo Verde Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes
for Teachers, providing support to 20 nonprofits through our Grant Cycle and donating
the Guaranteed Rate Bowl field to Fighter Country Foundation at Luke Air Force Base.
This Community Impact Report brings home the stories of our impact from all corners of
the state. None of this would be possible without the unwavering commitment to service
and impact from our Board of Directors, Yellow Jacket Committee, Ambassadors, volunteers,
staff and corporate and community partners.
They say by being a team that Together Everyone Achieves More and we are here to show you how
we achieved for Arizonans across the state. Thank you for your support and another great year!

VOLUNTEERISM
The Fiesta Bowl is honored to support the Arizona community all year round through volunteerism. This past season, nearly 3,000 volunteers dedicated their time to community projects throughout the state. By mobilizing the collective energy and talents of volunteers, we amplify our impact, inspire others to action and foster the spirit of community.
SPIRIT
Spirit was created from a solar flare in 1971 and
found his way to Arizona.
Bursting with energy, Spirit worked to find someone to partner with that shared in his uniqueness and helped him shine bright. Spirit heard rumblings of a new college football bowl game called the Fiesta Bowl and since he loves to be the life of the party, the Fiesta Bowl was a perfect match! However, Spirit wanted More than Just a Game. He wanted
to partner with someone who shared his passion for giving back and his values of youth, sports and education. He had found his home. Every day our mascot, Spirit, brings the same energy as the solar flare from which he came.

FIELD DEDICATION
Fiesta Bowl Charities donated the field from the 2023 Guaranteed Rate Bowl to Luke Air Force Base through Fighter Country Foundation. More than 97,000 square feet of sod and a brand-new scoreboard
were installed in partnership with BHHS Legacy Foundation and PNC Bank.
Who would have thought that a college bowl game football
field would be installed on an Active Duty Military Installation? This amazing gift was installed and will be heavily utilized by military members and families at Luke AFB for years to come.
We can't thank Fiesta Bowl Charities enough for this amazing project that they made possible.

COMMUNITY
RESOURCE ROOM
In partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Fiesta Bowl
Charities celebrated the opening of a newly-renovated Community Resource Room at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale
Peach Springs Branch.
The Community Resource Room fosters a sense of connection and support designed to serve as a safe space for local youth and teens
in Peach Springs. The revamped room includes additional seating and tables for collaborative activities, a dedicated area to showcase their
art, new electronics including a television, Nintendo Switch, two virtual reality headsets and more. A 12x10 foot mural representing the Hualapai
people, The People of the Tall Pines, decorates an interior wall of the resource room, painted by Native American artist Leonard Siyuja.
The new Community Resource Room built by the Fiesta Bowl team has created a newfound sense of excitement for Club members and the Hualapai Nation. The attention to detail and celebration of the Hualapai Culture has made a significant impact. This room has benefited our local teens and the entire community, offering access to technology and a safe environment for youth to thrive.

KINDNESS ARIZONA
Fiesta Bowl hosted Kindness Arizona for the fourth year in a row with the goal of spreading kindness across the state of Arizona. Fiesta Bowl staff and volunteers came together to paint apartments at a domestic violence shelter, refresh a teacher lounge, pack snack boxes for teachers, donate water bottles for heat relief stations, plant trees and repair and restore donated bicycles.
Kindness Arizona 2024 rolled through St. Vincent de Paul and helped repair a whole bunch of bikes! These new wheels will go to folks transitioning from homelessness to housing and looking For transportation to and from work. Some will go to kids whose families might not be able to afford a quality bike. Fiesta Bowl Charities spreads kindness in our community all year long - and this approach is what makes the Fiesta Bowl more than just a game.

A total of $92,500 in financial awards was granted to 25 Arizona minority residents to pursue their GED or attend an Arizona postsecondary institution. The Empowering Diversity Scholarship supports the Fiesta Bowl organization's commitment to education, as well as diversity, equity and inclusion.
The Empowering Diversity scholarship has helped me pursue my dreams to become the first lawyer in my family as a third-generation college student. The scholarship has allowed me to envision what
I truly want for my future as a tribal lawyer, and that there is no limit as to how far I can go. AhÃyi'é! Thank you!

dream program
Fiesta Bowl partnered with the DREAM program to host four hard-working students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) for a unique Vrbo Fiesta Bowl experience. Students traveled to Arizona to work alongside Fiesta Bowl executives and staff during the planning and execution of the Bowl Season games. The DREAM Program, established by Position Sports, strives to provide mentorship and opportunities to underserved and underrepresented students interested in a career in sport. Their main program supports students who attend or have recently graduated from HBCUs.
The Fiesta Bowl team was a shining example of what I aim to be in my career and my local community. They helped reaffirm my dream of working in the community relations sector. My group and I were
held to high standards, given responsibilities throughout our time, and were always encouraged to ask questions. I was able to connect with various stakeholders, fans, and I had the privilege of meeting with every department at the Fiesta Bowl to explore all of my career options. I am immensely grateful to the Fiesta Bowl organization. Thank you for the experience of a lifetime!

PATH TO
THE SUMMIT
PRESENTED BY AECOM HUNT
For the third year, Fiesta Bowl hosted the Path to the Summit for assistant football coaches and athletic administrators from underrepresented groups to partake in a learning and networking experience with directors of athletics, head football coaches and other leaders who attend the Spring Summit.
Path to the Summit attendees also participated in a community service event by building 50 skateboards donated to the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale Red Mountain Branch youth.
Skateboarding is one of the most popular sports on Native reservations. Many youth in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community enjoy skateboarding and provides them with a fun activity to participate in, also promoting health and fitness. Quality skateboards can be expensive so youth may never get to enjoy skateboarding or may have to use boards that break easily. The boards they received from Fiesta Bowl Charities can be enjoyed for years to come, will give them the opportunity to enjoy this growing sport AND maintain their health and fitness.

LIBERTY
TEAM COMMUNITY
ENGAGEMENT EVENT
Student-athletes from Liberty University came together to support
Girl Scouts Arizona Cactus-Pine Council Daisy Troops by building 80 wagons for their Cookie Sales Program. Daisy troop members helped student-athletes build these wagons in an exciting competition.
From the moment the Liberty University Football team ran onto the concrete, giving high fives to kindergarten and first grade Girl Scouts, the energy was electric! The players formed teams around iconic Girl Scout cookie flavors and joined our youngest Girl Scouts who confidently directed them on building techniques and shared why they were excited to sell their first Girl Scout cookie.
The afternoon was filled with laughter, fist bumps, dancing and friendly competition, resulting in 80 cookie wagons for girls.

GUARANTEED RATE BOWL
It was 15 years between Bowl Season wins for Kansas football, which the Jayhawks earned in a high-octane 49-36 clash against UNLV at the 34th annual Guaranteed Rate Bowl in downtown Phoenix. The Jayhawks previous bowl win was a 42-21 victory over Minnesota at the Insight Bowl in Tempe's Sun Devil Stadium.
Under the leadership of third-year Head Coach Lance Leipold, the Jayhawks concluded their 2023 season with an impressive 9-4 record, marking Kansas' first nine-win season in 16 years.
"To see those guys have a chance to go to two consecutive bowl games, come up with a win – nine wins – all the different things they've been able
to experience really in the last two years is pretty special," Leipold said
after the game.
In front of 26,478 fans at Chase Field, senior quarterback and Offensive
MVP Jason Bean showcased his prowess by setting a Guaranteed Rate Bowl record with six touchdown passes. The Jayhawks dominated the air with
449 passing yards, nearly doubling the Rebels' total of 291.
Kenny Logan Jr., the Defensive Player of the Game, led the Jayhawks' defensive efforts with nine total tackles – eight solo – and one pass breakup.
Vrbo FIESTA BOWL
Making his NCAA record 61st – and final – career start, Oregon quarterback Bo Nix was masterful at the 53rd Annual Vrbo Fiesta Bowl. With Nix's experience and record-setting season on full display, No. 8 Oregon posted the largest margin of victory in Fiesta Bowl history with a 45-6 win over
No. 23 Liberty at State Farm Stadium.
"We said this season, and really this game, was about unfinished business," said Oregon Head Coach Dan Lanning. "We said we're writing the last chapter to our book, and we had the pen. I thought our guys wrote a phenomenal chapter. Started off a little hairy, but they finished it off the
way Oregon is supposed to play. I'm really proud of these guys."
Oregon took away two of Liberty's key statistical advantages. Liberty entered Bowl Season with a nation-leading 21 interceptions. Oregon did
not turn the ball over. The Flames also led the country with 302.9 rushing yards per game, and the Ducks limited them to a season-low 168 yards on the ground. Oregon's third Fiesta Bowl victory in program history was in large part due to Nix's play.
Voted Offensive Player of the Game, Nix sliced and diced Liberty's defense to the tune of 363 passing yards and a Fiesta Bowl single-game record
tying five passing touchdowns. He completed 28-of-35 passes to set a new NCAA record for single-season completion percentage (77.45%), surpassing Alabama's Mac Jones, who held the previous record of 77.36% in 2020.
